How to Make Homemade Nipple Clamps? DIY Nipple Clamps Ideas
Although I’m not a fan of homemade sex toys, homemade nipple clamps are probably the safest DIY sex toys you can make.
Most nipple clamps sold in stores cost up to $20. Obviously, these clamps are better than homemade nipple clamps and are well worth the investment, but there is no harm in experimenting with nipple play using various household items as nipple clamps.

But before we get started, I want to go over some of the safety precautions I recommend following each and every time.
DIY Nipple Clamps Safety Tips
While DIY nipple clamps are relatively safe, there are a few safety rules you should follow:
- Nipple clamps reduce blood flow to the nipples, which is not dangerous if done in moderation. However, if you make the nipple clamps too tight, they can completely cut off blood flow, which can cause permanent tissue damage. To avoid this, you need to check the nipples regularly to see if they have lost sensitivity or turned blue.
- Place the clamps on the base of the nipple, not the tip.
- Always release nipple clamps gently and slowly. Don’t rip them off.
- Test the strength of the clamp by putting it on your finger before placing it on the nipple.
- Be extra careful if you have pierced nipples. Also, don’t use nipple clamps if the piercing is very recent.
Now that we’ve talked about the safety rules to follow, here’s the list of items that can be used as nipple clamps. Most of them are different variations of clips and clamps. Also note that the designs of the items below may vary.
Best Homemade Nipple Clamps Ideas
Clothespins
This is the most obvious choice. It doesn’t require any additional adjustments and can be used as is. I prefer wooden clothespins, but any material will do.
Paper clips
Another very obvious choice. You have to pull the paper clip apart a bit before using it. Other than that, it’s pretty straightforward. I’m not a big fan of paper clips because I prefer wider nipple clamps.
Hair pins (bobby pins)
Bobby pins are effective and extremely easy to use. The downside (or maybe the upside for some people) is the same as with paper clips – they are very narrow.
Bag clips/chip clips
There are tons of designs of chip clips that are used to seal an open bag. Some are very wide, while others resemble clothespins. Pick whatever you like or have around the house.
Alligator Clips
These are called alligator because they have teeth. They are perfect for people who like it rougher.
Chopsticks with rubber bands
This method is not ready-to-use and requires additional adjustments. You will need to wrap rubber bands around both ends of two chopsticks to bind them together. Pull the chopsticks apart a bit to create a gap and place a nipple between them. You can adjust the tightness with the rubber bands.
Also, don’t use cheap chopsticks because they may have splinters.
Magnets
Such nipple clamps are actually commercially available.
You’ve probably seen children’s toys that consist of dozens of small magnetic balls that can be manipulated into various shapes. If magnetic balls are strong enough, you can try using them as homemade nipple clamps.
Binder clips
Binder clips are very similar in use to bag clips. Very simple and effective. Just make sure they’re not too strong.
Clothes hangers with clips
This is a very interesting option. The logic is the same as with other clips and clamps, but you can pull the hanger to create the pulling sensation on both nipples simultaneously.
Spring Clamps
These clamps are used in woodworking, painting and other crafts. Some can be used as DIY nipple clamps.
You can also add rubber bands to all clips and clamps to make them stronger or weaker, depending on where you add the band, at the beginning or end of the clamp.
Are Homemade Nipple Clamps Worth It?
Actually, I think it’s fine to use DIY nipple clamps. They are enough to get into nipple play and understand how you like it. And then, if you like it, you can move on to more sophisticated commercially available nipple clamps. Below you can see some interesting yet affordable options.
